High mountains, forests and lakes
The mountains of Arunachal Pradesh
Mountains and trekking
From easy and flat to difficult and high
The trek in the mountains of the Tawang region, not far from Tibet and Bhutan, runs over several passes up to an altitude of 4,700 meters. The trail leads past alpine lakes, through coniferous and rhododendron forests, yak pastures and heathland. There are always fantastic views of the snow-crowned Mt. Kangdo (7090 m above sea level) in the Himalayas. In winter, there is the possibility of shorter hikes in the lower-lying areas.
