Our rhododendron high trail trekking offers you magnificent views of Mt. Khangchendzonga every day, weather permitting, and with a bit of luck, the most beautiful panoramic views of Mt. Everest and the Himalayas of Nepal!
This trek is suitable for participants who would like to trek at less extreme altitudes and in less well-known trekking areas.
Our experienced kitchen team will prepare delicious, hot meals for you, and we will provide modern trekking equipment with comfortable sleeping mats. Your guide will take care of your concerns and safety. Frame the trekking with a diverse cultural trip, e.g. with the travel module Sikkim East, Sikkim West, Darjeeling and/or Kalimpong to gain deep insights into the country and people of this mountain region.

Highlights
- Daily panoramic view of Mt. Khangchenjunga at a relatively low altitude between 2,500 and 3,600 meters

Itinerary
- Day 1: Travelling through various vegetation zones on the way to the trekking starting point, e.g. to the Darjeeling, Sikkim East or Sikkim West travel module. With a short hike, approximately. 1.5-hours. Overnight stay in camp, 3,080 m.
- Day 2: Trekking through rhododendron and oak forest, approx. 5 hours; overnight stay in camp, 2,960 m.
- Day 3: Trekking to the viewpoint, approx. 5 hours; overnight stay in camp, 3,570 m.
- Day 4: Watching the sunrise at the viewpoint followed by a descent into the valley, approx. 6 hours; overnight stay in an simple hotel or camp.
- Day 5: Continuing with travel module Sikkim West or Sikkim East.
Additional options
- This trek can also be done in reverse order. We will be happy to discuss the ideal route for you.
- Extend this trekking with additional days hiking through rarely visited areas in Western Sikkim (+2 days).
- Combine this trek with the Khangchendzonga trek, Singelela variant, to Dzongri and Goechela (+12 days).
- Include an extra day to shorten the daily hiking time.
